I just installed updates to my computer and when it was done my computer shutdown. I waited to see if it was going to restart like it was supposed to but it did not. I pressed the power button to turn it on and it got stuck on the Dell boot screen. Pressing the F2 or F12 keys did not do anything.
After searching online and trying a few things, the following worked for me.
I unplugged the power cord from the computer.
Then I held the power button down for 20 secs and plugged the power cord back in.
I turned the computer back on and held down the F8 key.
The updates finished and the Vista screen loaded.
I was freaked out there for a moment.
